THE PSYCHIC SOVIET
By Ian Svenonius
Book (270pp) / DC307
Ian Svenonius has compiled a book of his popular essays for release through DRAG CITY books.

Called THE PSYCHIC SOVIET, after the central framing essay, it consists of both new articles and ones published previously in places like Index, BBGun, Dot Dot Dot, Sound Collector, Plan B and Weird War World, among others.

The essays, written in a scholarly yet engaging style, should clear up much of the prevailing confusion regarding events of the last millennium by exploring the use of rock ’n’ roll and art by the ruling class, and the sinister machinations behind popular fiction, film, and television serials, among other cultural outlets.

MOONLIT
Issue #1
Book (46pp) / Moonlit1
MoonLit is a new arts journal whose inaugural issue is a knockout combination of writing and artwork including crossover talents from the new music scene along with poetry’s rising stars. MoonLit is the brainchild of two Naropa University writing program alums, poets Lisa Janssen and Claire McMahon. Not finding anything they liked in the existing crop of “new” journals, they decided to take matters into their own hands. They obeyed no stylistic limitations and gathered together a far flung group of fourteen contributors from all walks of creative endeavor including David Berman, Neil Hagerty, Gillian McCain, Bill Callahan, Bill Berkson, Eleni Sikelianos, Philip Jenks and others. These parts equal a whole that is wild and fun, heartbreaking and strange. And a quick read at that.
