Streamline was started in 1993 as a continuation of the DOM label (1985-1992).

There is no category or style or period that connects the releases on the label. On the contrary, it appears as if the individual releases all demonstrate the belief that musical categories must be expanded, broken up and interconnected. The focus is directed on original sound and individual personal expression. Consequently,Streamline artists are invited to participate in the visual presentation of their releases. Most packages feature graphic work by the artists.

Every release is presented in it's particular format for the first time. There are CD issues of old LP records by INTERSYSTEMS and RAGNAR GRIPPE as well as vinyl issues of CDs by NURSE WITH WOUND, XHOL CARAVAN and PANTALEIMON. Albums by MIMIR, LITTLE ANNIE and EDWARD KA-SPEL have been released on both CD and LP format.

2000 found Streamline entering into a new phase via an arrangement with Drag City, who will manufacture and produce selected releases for worldwide distribution.
