Jim White's new album Inner Day is out tomorrow! Ahead of the game, Jim releases the gorgeous instrumental track "Two Ruffys" today with a new music video directed by Anna White.
"Two Ruffys" scores a feverish sense of disconnection, seeking to make sense of the isolation that life and death invariably brings. Named for a place down the road from his late father’s home, Jim’s song combines two pieces written in the wake, meditating on two states – an ambient weave of drums, piano and synth pulsing with life and loss, making no comment on which state is, or isn’t. The dovetailing aspects uncover a lovely feeling in the composition’s movement; Anna White's music video puts you in motion, taking the viewer on a drive through the countryside.
Inner Day is the follow-up to Jim's debut solo record released last year, All Hits: Memories, which came to fruition (as this new album did too!) with producer Guy Picciotto. Inner Day is a state of nature: peace and tension, rest and disquiet aloft on the wind of Jim’s inspiration. Discover your own inner day on October 24!
