TOMMY PELTIER UNLEASHES THE HOUNDS

posted February 24th, 2026

From LA trumpeter-turned-tunesmith Tommy Peltier (who last week, we should note, turned 91!) comes a new single, out today: "10,000 Greyhounds," a frantic exorcism of jangle-blues with Tommy’s many dogs on the hell hound trail of lore. Recorded at Capitol Records in 1971, the rock ‘n’ rollin’ rhythm guitar drives the song with Lou Reed-style physicality, sending Tommy into scats and the band into jams. By the end, the song spirals out from bubblegum pop mode into an ebullient pocket epic of blissed self-discovery, channeling Hackamore Brick and Dwight Twilley vibes throughout.

Echo Park
, due out March 27, arrives fifty-some years after its 1970–'76 recording sessions. Mixed and mastered by Jim O'Rourke, these 11 tracks capture the smooth sounds, glamour ‘n free spirits to be found just down the street from Tinseltown in its golden day, with Tommy carrying himself in tuneful tradition of Rupert Holmes, Stephen Bishop, Andrew Gold, David Batteau, and of course, Captain Fantastic and the Thin White Duke. The album features contributions from singer/songwriter and (dear friend of Tommy's) Judee Sill, as well as some of Tommy's old bandmates in The Jazz Corps.

Take a stroll through Echo Park with Tommy Peltier on March 27, 2026! To celebrate, Tommy will play a record release show later that night at LA's 2220 Arts + Archives; he'll perform in a trio with Aaron MF Olson on bass and Jude Tedaldi on cello, opened by Dear Nora and Sophie Appel. Tickets are on sale now.
