Bill Nace & Mike Polizze, two Philadelphia noisemakers of different varieties and velocities, join forces in the form of a one-sided vinyl scorcher - Live at Pageant : Soloveev, out October 23. With Bill on taishogoto and Mike on guitar, this recording showcases the duo's first-ever improvised performance in a furious white hot spirit.
The date was May 10th, 2025: a warm spring day in Philadelphia, and a damned hot night over at Bainbridge and 6th. Inside the Pageant Soloveev gallery an evening of music presented by Open Mouth Records was escalating fast. Fortunately Mike had the presence of mind to press record on his phone just as they took the stage, allowing part of that night to live on in infamy, adding to the two players' extensive discographies - Bill Nace's solo works and innumerable collabs (including Body/Head with Kim Gordon), and Mike Polizze's work, both as Purling Hiss and under his own name.
Live at Pageant is an unhindered exhibition of full-spectrum free string playing in its rawest form, with Nace and Polizze colliding across one iPhone recording, now and forever captured on one side of vinyl. Wild molten rock to keep noise freaks spinning for eternity, calling on the ghosts of Branca and Hendrix. Live at Pageant is out (on vinyl only) on October 23, 2026, via Sea Note Records.
