Drag City is pleased to announce an album of music by Mayo Thompson. Quiet Days in Cliché is out Dec. 4th. Mayo thinks of this collection as just some strumming and notes to self.

With The Red Krayola, Mayo worked on some 30-odd musical releases, along with writing a few books. For those of you unfamiliar with Mayo's work with The Red Krayola, we suggest you consult the web ;). That brings us to Quiet Days in Cliché, which Mayo recorded on his smartphone. To us, his acoustic improvisations draw threads through space looking for what more could happen.

Here at Drag City we've worked hard to persuade Mayo to share these ideas with the public as a figurehead of psychedelic music going back to 1966. We trust you will hear why. Quiet Days in Cliché is out on LP and digital formats on December 4, 2026. Christmas is coming!
