The storied collaboration of Boris and Michio Kurihara (Ghost, White Heaven) take one giant step into the ether with the announcement of Live at FEVER 20181229, out Dec. 4, along with a sample offering from the show, "Sweet Nō1", out now. Alongside the new album, we are happy to announce the first vinyl issue (outside of Japan) of their first collaboration, Rainbow, just in time for it's twentieth anniversary.
Boris and Kurihara first collaborated on Rainbow back in 2006, and the cuts from Live at FEVER 20181229, recorded live twelve years later, haven't aged a second. The legendary power trio of Takeshi, Wata, & Atsuo are perfectly complimented by Kurihara's moody brilliance, playing through most of Rainbow but tossing in some surprise selections from Boris' extensive catalog as well as two originals from Kurihara. A standout from the live recording, "Sweet Nō1" ups the tempo from the studio cut, with flamethrower guitars intertwining on top of a rollicking hard rock groove, culminating in a volcano of fuzz.
Live at FEVER 20181229 showcases two unstoppable forces in the psych rock world coalescing into one living and breathing unit playing off of each other's strengths, resulting in a category-5 hurricane of sound. Live at FEVER 20181229 and the new vinyl issue of Rainbow are out Dec. 4, 2026.
